When you’re moving a lot from one place to another, you have two options: either you take whatever home security system you have with you; or you make the best out of whatever security system is already at the new house.
Neither one is a great option because chances are your existing system won’t fit your new environment and doesn’t have an easy installation. And, chances are the new place doesn’t have a good home security system at all.
And that’s the reason this article reviews the EZVIZ Smart Home 1080p Security Camera System with four cameras. After going through all the options I reckon this is the best home security system for all you movers and shakers.
- 100 feet of range
- Motion detection
- Easy set-up
- 1TB hard drive
- Motion detection can suffer from a few false alarms
If you’re moving around a lot, naturally you’ll want a quick and easy set-up and fortunately there’s an easy one here. That’s why it’s the best one for you.
Just run the cables around to wherever you to put the cameras and then plug them in.
You will have to log in on the the system’s mobile app (which can be downloaded form the App Store or Google Play) so you can test out the cameras. The whole set up takes about 15 minutes.
“My new place is bigger. Is that a problem?”
The answer is: no. Part of the reason this article has chosen to check this system out is its long range.
You can see out to 100 feet both in the day and in the night so whatever size your place is, this camera system will cover you.
100 feet of range will provide complete coverage no matter what type of place you’re living in.
“New place means new people, and I don’t trust people I don’t know”
It’s only natural whenever you move into a new place, you don’t immediately trust the people around you. That’s what the “getting to know you time” is for.
Fortunately, the entire system is encrypted so nobody can access your feed. They’d need your password for the app, and you’re never going to give that to them. If you encounter different people in different places, encryption is very important — it’s just that bit that gives you a peace of mind.
You get four cameras and each one of them has a 1080p native resolution.
The images are very clear and crisp as you’d expect from 1080p and there’s no distortion or flickers on fast moving objects (like cars) because of the 60 frames per second (fps) speed.
You’ll see a lot too. This system has a 107 degree wide angled lens, which is not super-wide like EZVIZ have been saying. But it’s wide enough with four cameras to get a 360-degree view of the surrounding area.
The EZVIZ 1080p is “IP66 Weatherproof” which means it has been sprayed with 100 liters of water per minute for a total of three minutes and it didn’t self-destruct.
It will do fine in any rain shower so if the new place is in a rainy area then you’ll be fine.
If the new place is particularly hot or cold you’ll also be fine and dandy because the EZVIZ 1080p works in temperatures between -40 degrees Fahrenheit and 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
There’s some good news and also some bad news here.
First, the bad news: the motion detector is prone to some false alarms, like in most motion detectors in other systems. It doesn’t detect body heat so it relies solely on movement.
So it means birds flying around or plants blowing around can cause a notification to be sent to you.
But the good news is that the notifications also contain pictures of whatever caused the event so you’ll immediately know if there’s a problem. Following a notification you have the option to go view live footage of the house on the App. Here you can look at all four cameras and check out recorded footage. Or you can just get back to work and do nothing about the notification. Which is the option I’d take if I saw no human being in the notification pics.
The EZVIZ comes with a 1 TB recorder built-in to the machine.
It’ll record up to one month’s worth of events which is about as much as you’ll ever need unless you’re in the business of collecting images of the neighborhood (maybe you are).
If you’re moving house a lot you want an easy set-up, great pictures, encryption and enough range to cover you no matter where you are. You’ll also want a weatherproof system, specifically one that is good in any environment. The EZVIZ 1080p is the best option because it has all these inclusions and more.
It’ll be good in temperatures up the 140 degrees and in temperatures as low as -40.
If you’re moving house a lot for work then this home security system is your best bet.
